Pipeline
We are currently focused on several novel compounds from a library of over 100 compounds, all developed by Dr. Stephen Safe, a Distinguished Professor, in labs at the Institute of Biosciences and Technology in Houston and labs at Texas A&M University, in College Station, Texas. These unique analogs are derived from a natural compound found in plants known for its chemo preventative properties and are protected by a series of issued and pending patents.
CDIM 9
Efficacy testing demonstrates that CDIM 9, our lead compound, has confirmed invivo activity for arresting tumor growth in MDA-MB-231 breast cancer cells- the test model for Basal-like breast cancer. This recently identified breast cancer sub-type is very aggressive and typically targets young, pre-menopausal women and has no currently approved targeted therapy available. We are finalizing our preclinical development and plan to file an IND and enter human clinical trials in 2009.
CDIM 1, CDIM 4, CDIM 5, CDIM 7
All four compounds are formulated and ready to continue invivo testing in indications such as prostate, colon, lung, bladder, pancreatic, ovarian and endometrial cancers.
